Slavonia and Baranya occupies the eastern part of the Croatia, being covered by the territories of five counties. The Slavonski Brod and Sava Basin County, the Osijek and Baranya County, the Pozega and Slavonia County, the Vukovar and Srijem County and the Virovitica and Drava Basin County.
This area covers 12,000 square km and about a million inhabitants live in it. Thanks to the favorable location, numerous rivers and lakes, forests and fertile land, the man has left his traces and the proof of his existence in these territories already since the earliest times.

Here in the rich plains of Slavonia, in the gentle place surrounded by the fields of wheat, sunflower and maize, you can find springs of the long lost Panonian Sea.
